Can you feel that tension in your shoulders? That kink in your neck that just won’t go away because you had only four hours of sleep that night? Studying for finals getting you stressed out? Don’t you worry. I’ve compiled a list of websites that are excellent if you ever need to just take a trip away from the world and get back into your own skin. Ones that are bolded are the ones that I recommend
- CALM – offers different scenery and calming music, includes guided calm, a timer and a button that leads you to an app for your iPhone. Highly recommended. I use it whenever I’m in the accepting process.
- RELAXING SNOW – Not quite as realistic as CALM, but still offers the same value; you can sit back and enjoy a nice snowy scenery with the option of calming music, but it does not play on it’s own.
- THE QUIET PLACE PROJECT – This is one of my favourite places to go. The music they offer is quite calming and it distracts you in a way that makes you think. It’s an escape from the real world, so if you’re ever feeling stressed about any social media sites (which I’m hoping you’re not) go here.
- DO NOTHING FOR 2 MINUTES – It sounds a bit redundant, but yet it is totally acceptable. The title explains it all. You literally do nothing for two minutes. It comes with a scenery of the beach and a sound of waves crashing against the shore. However, it counts down two minutes and restarts if you touch your mouse or keyboard.
- SIMPLY NOISE – It offers three types of noise: white, pink, and brown. I find that if you listen to this for so long, you could go a bit crazy, but it helps people clear their mind and enjoy the silence much better.
- MOOD TURN – Comes with different options for your scenery and has selected sounds with each one. The cool part is that if you choose thunderstorm, there is a choice of backgrounds to watch while you listen to the rain.
- SILK – It allows you to listen to calming music while you play and draw with a silk type brush. The page is mirrored, so it will be symmetrical, and it can get a little distracting at times.
- 3D LINES – Please note that this is not for someone who gets motion sick really easily. It is a string that you control with your mouse and you can intertwine it with the rest of your string.
- RAIN FOR ME – Highly recommended as I fall asleep to this every night. It’s thunderstorm sounds that will help you sooth and calm down for at least two minutes.
